It’s been a long time in the making, and it looks like the wait for Tory Burch‘s sportswear line may soon be over. This morning’s announcement that Burch is eyeing a location for her first Tory Sport brick and mortar store in New York’s Flatiron District seems to be a sure sign that we’re closing in on the brand’s 2015 launch date.
The boutique opening will coincide with an e-commerce launch and offerings should include yoga, running, tennis and golf gear (a natural fit for preppy Burch). Burch described the magnitude of the line to WWD as: “A major step. It’s creating another brand. It’s being designed in-house and marries function and style.” Since we’re already fans of the designer’s easy-to-wear clothes (does any shoe make running around town easier than the Reva flat?), we can already imagine living in this gear. And, if we could make one small request, we’re begging for that T logo on a tennis racquet and balls—all in a signature Tory Burch print, no doubt.
