By now, we all know about the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala, which has basically become the Super Bowl of the fashion world. But if the Met Ball is the Super Bowl, then the CFDA Awards (which stands for the Council of Fashion Designers of America) is analogous to the Oscars. Winning a CFDA Award is either a crowning achievement for an established designer or a catalyst that will propel the status of an up-and-coming one’s. (For example, last night Marc Jacobs won for best Womenswear Designer, while Brandon Maxwell walked away with the Swarovski Award, which recognizes emerging talent.) And just like the Oscars, the guests at the CFDA Awards go all out when it comes to fashion and beauty, even more so since the event centers around—and celebrates—creativity and style. Take a look for yourself with our roundup of the best beauty looks of the night.
