Trends from the ’90s are having a major resurgence right now: slip dresses, skater tees, and brown lipstick seem to be everywhere. Now it looks like Marc Jacobs is making a bid to turn back the clock even more; he just single-handedly brought back crimped hair, and we’re feeling it.
The models at Jacobs’ resort show in New York City this morning were channeling an ’80s vibe with bright patterns, embellished bodices, and classic MTV sweatshirts—but the hair drove the look home.
For those who got burned (metaphorically and literally) by this look a few decades back, it might take some easing into to accept that the style is back. Start small by going easy on the teasing, or try a partly-crimped ponytail. Could crimpers reclaim their place next to our trusty straighteners and curling irons? Only time will tell.
