Every once in a while, a new invention comes along in the beauty world that makes you wonder how the hell nobody had thought of it sooner. Magnetic lash extensions are one of these. First introduced by One Two Lash in 2016 (which won an Allure Best of Beauty Breakthrough Award for its innovativeness), magnetic lashes are far easier to apply and remove than their glue-y counterparts, which are notoriously troublesome (especially for beginners) and difficult to maneuver. Glue-less faux fringe sets are also reusable, budge-proof, and virtually danger-free (meaning: no chance of getting glue in your eyeball). On the flip side, they’re also often a bit pricier than conventional false lashes, and typically only available online or through specialty retailers. In other words, if you need to grab false lashes last-minute, your options are still pretty limited.

Fortunately, lash giant Ardell is changing that, with a new Magnetic Lash collection that will be available everywhere from Walgreens to Target. The brand’s new magnetic lashes, like other glue-less lash extensions, feature tiny, virtually invisible magnets along the base of the lashes. To apply them, you simply place the extensions above and below your natural lash line; the magnets will lock into place, and the faux-fringe stays put until you want ‘em off (at which point, you simply tug on the faux hairs to release the magnets).

The Ardell Magnetic Lashes collection feature five different styles — three full strip lashes and two half lashes (called Magnetic Accents). You can see them being applied in the following how-to video created by the brand:
