There are plenty of celebrity lookalikes out there, and some are more convincing than others. In fact, some celebrity lookalikes are even so on point they get chased by fans who think they are the stars they look like — just ask this Beyoncé doppelganger. Recently, as reported by The Daily Mail, there was a Meghan Markle lookalike contest put on by the website beautifulpeople.com, and the winner is so convincing she’ll have you doing a double take.
The winner of the contest is 25-year-old part-time model Lukwesa Morin of Washington DC. She told The Daily Mail, “Since Suits became popular, people have been telling me every day that I look like her, from perfect strangers to my family. And now, since the engagement, I’ve had even more comments with people saying “Are you Meghan Markle, are you going to marry a prince?'” She says the contest win helps legitimize the comments she has received.
Morin is 11 years younger than Markle, but says about their similar looks, “I’m only 25 but we’re both mixed race. My father is French and my mother is from Zambia.” Though she herself isn’t much of a fan of redheads, as she told The Daily Mail, she has followed the love story of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and says it’s a beautiful romance.
Apparently, there’s a lot of money to be made for celebrity doppelgangers. Morin is already a part-time model and does beauty pageants, but there will be a lot of opportunities for her in advance of the royal wedding on May 19 of next year. According to The Daily Mail, her earnings could double if she finds a Prince Harry lookalike to team up with. Maybe it’s time for her to do her own casting search.
