In a recently posted ‘gram by Sarah Potempa, the Beachwaver creator smiled alongside Kardashian West and beauty guru Kandee Johnson at the MDNA Skin Meets KKW Beauty event in Los Angeles’ YouTube space. All three ladies were sporting, yes, pink hair.
The event featured a conversation on the beauty industry with Kardashian West and Madonna, who both launched their own brands last year. Behind the scenes, Potempa did a hair-color refresh for Johnson, who moderated the discussion. As for the exact products she used to achieve the vibrant shade? Arctic Fox Virgin Pink Hair Color and Sexy Hair Color Lock Conditioner.
Seeing so much pink happening can surely make it tempting to book your next color appointment. But before doing so, let’s talk hair health. We said it before and will say it again: the secret is to not bleach your roots. As spotted in the pic, KKW’s roots are noticeably dark. This is strategic as it not only causes less damage, but it also makes the color more flattering for your skin tone.
To maintain hair health after such a bold dye job, Potempa suggests to deep condition at least once a week. “Every time you shampoo your hair, the color will fade a bit, so you want to avoid clarifying shampoos and focus on color safe, sulfate-free shampoos,” she says. “Dry shampoo is a great way to extend the life of your style and make your color last longer.”
Looking for a safer route? It’s possible to rock pink hair while skipping the bleaching stage entirely. There are tons of temporary hair-color products out there, like IGK Foamo Holographic Hair Foam and Clairol Color Crave Hair Makeup — to name just two.
Either way, you can’t go wrong with pink.
