Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon won our hearts with his magnificent performances in Pyeongchang and relentless advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community through social media and a fundraising partnership with GLAAD. Now, he gets a standing ovation for a recent tweet sharing his skin-care routine…and a side of signature Adam Rippon attitude aimed at one of the more recent headline-making political scandals.
The 28-year-old took to Twitter on Monday, writing, “My nightly skin routine is pretty easy. Use a gentle cleanser, hydrating serum, check to make sure Stormy Daniels is raising enough money for her legal fees, and a night cream for glowing skin in the morning!” Followers quickly chimed in with responses like, “When do you exfoliate? Before or after the daily White House firings?” Stormy and Rippon make for an unlikely team, to say the least, but we’re for it.
This isn’t the first time Rippon has hinted about his beauty routine, nor the first time he’s made a public political statement. During the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics, Rippon famously refused to meet with Vice President Mike Pence, who frequently supports legislation that alienates the LGBTQ+ community, women, and minority groups.
But Rippon is much, much more than a well-moisturized face with a savage sense of humor, as he was recently awarded the Human Rights Campaign Visibility Award for his advocacy at the Olympics. And even though his flawless skin has inspired more than a few Reddit threads, Rippon consistently uses his platform to promote causes close to his heart without deviating from his signature razor-sharp wit.
