As a beauty writer, I see a lot of swatches — some of them I’m admittedly more excited about than others. But no palette has ever made me audibly exclaim “Oh shit!” until I saw this remixed rose-gold palette from Nabla Cosmetics, (which was tipped off to me by PopSugar). Prepare to swoon hard.
The change of seasons has brought about a wave of rose-gold eye shadow palettes — pretty, yes but also a little predictable. While in the rose-gold family, there is absolutely nothing predictable about the fresh new Nabla Soul Blooming Eye Shadow Palette — 12 uber-flattering shades of spring eye shadow euphoria.
What makes the palette stand out, is the brilliant pairing of colors. Yes, it includes your standard rose-gold shades — and even a matte millennial pink — but instead of yet another monochrome palette, Soul Blooming includes shocks of indigo, lavender, and iridescent amethyst. It’s not unlike one of those breath-taking sunsets that happen after a spring shower.
The 12 shades really are wildly flattering on a range of skin tones. First up, there’s Honey Drip, a gold champagne sparkle with just a hint of pink iridescence, followed by Chamomile, an ultra-light matte peach; Garden Gate, a lovely shade of iridescent blue-violet; Gea, a matte Millennial Pink; Bolero, a matte coral; Climbing Rose, a shimmery pink; Philosophy, an iridescent shimmer that appears pink on lighter skin tones and blue on darker skin; Flowery; a sweet shade of lavender; Anemone, a standout indigo shimmer; Middle Karma, a matte mauve; and Caravaggio, a matte brown with purple undertones.
Given the palette’s heavy nod to Mother Nature’s prettiest spring colors, it might be no surprise that Soul Blooming is totally cruelty-free and vegan. My natural-beauty loving heart almost can’t handle it.
The only catch? The palette doesn’t drop until May 3 at nablacosmetics.com. Setting my calendar reminder right now.
