Jennifer Lopez has recently been making headlines for her upcoming 70-piece makeup collection with Inglot, but today it’s not about her foray into cosmetics. Nope, it’s all about the down-to-there hair she debuted at last night’s 2018 Billboard Latin Music Awards. If you’ve kept tabs on the 2018 Time 100 performer, then you’re well aware that just days ago she was sporting waist-length hair. While us everyday folk would have to rely on biotin and a lot of prayer to see any major growth for the most part, J.Lo simply turned to hairstylist Chris Appleton for a hairstyle that was equally as eye-catching as her latest hit single, “El Anillo,” is ear-catching. The result? The ultimate long-hair-don’t-care hairstyle that’s left us all right alongside Leslie Jones, cheering for and getting our lives thanks to Jenny from the block.
With other stars — Kim Kardashian West, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj among them — taking a note from the throwback style, J.Lo is the latest celebrity to hop on the Cher hair revival. Rocked by the singer in the ’70s and ’80s, these ultra-long strands are renowned for looking equal parts flower child and full-on glam. While ultra-straight, super long strands look relatively carefree, achieving that length is truly a feat. Thank goodness for wig makers and extensions, which help folks embrace the look without the wait.
As if her 50-inch hair extensions weren’t enough of a statement at last night’s Billboard Latin Music Awards, the lyrics of her latest single, which translates to “The Ring,” most certainly were. Lyrics like, “You’ve given me so much that I’ve been thinking/I already have it all, but/When will I get the ring?,” have had fans hitting the Twittersphere hard. Though she explained in an interview with Ebro Darden on Beats 1 that her song is not a plea for long-time boyfriend and former New York Yankee, Alex Rodriguez, to propose, the Internet has obviously been speculating all about it.
Let ’em talk. We’ll just be here focused on getting our extensions to look as fab as J.Lo’s did last night.
